A Grand Foyer Staircase Railing in Brentwood
Warm oak, crisp steel and cable infill for a two story foyer that needed a centerpiece, not just a code requirement.
A two story foyer with a chandelier deserves better than builder grade balusters. The owners of this Brentwood home wanted warmth and openness at the same time, which is exactly what a wood and cable hybrid delivers: oak top rail and posts for the warmth, stainless cable infill so light moves through the whole space.
We drew the system in CAD first, worked out post spacing and cable tension for code compliant guard strength, then fabricated the steel in our Franklin shop. Install took two days and the foyer went from forgettable to the first thing every guest comments on.
The upstairs landing photo below is from a matching cable railing installation, and it shows why this style has taken over Brentwood and Franklin new construction: it disappears when you want the view and shows beautifully when you look for it.
